Cannon Beach Surf Lessons & Rentals offers surf lessons 7 days a week all year long (as long as conditions are safe) for all ages/levels.
- Our surf lessons are backed by 20 years of teaching surfing at our local beaches.
- Our surf instructors are professionally trained to teach you using a teaching method handed down from our founder's mentor, a national and world champion surfer.
- Real instructors, real waves, real lessons. Safety in the water is our #1 priority, while learning how to ride waves, and have fun!
- We offer private one on one, small private groups, larger private group lessons, and surf camps...Bring your friends! First time beginners or more intermediate/advanced surfers all welcome.
- We currently do not mix groups with strangers. Only you and yours will be in the group lessons.
- Lessons are approx 2 hrs from check in, and include a wetsuit and board rental so you have everything you need to ride waves! Extended rentals are available.
- We also offer surf lessons + beach yoga for those who want a beach yoga session prior to their surf lesson. We welcome everyone who wants to get into surfing! Cannon Beach, Oregon is a great place to learn!

How It Works
Yoga! If you love yoga and want to prepare your body for the surf lesson, you can practice on the beach! Julie is a certified power vinyasa yoga teacher and will guide you through a 30 minute yoga practice designed to calm your mind, and target muscles most used in surfing. Pre-surf yoga is available for private, semi-private, and groups. Bring warm comfortable layers, your yoga mat, or use ours. To add to your surf lesson, make sure to choose this option when booking your surf lesson.

How LONG ARE THE LESSONS?
Approx 2 hours for surf lesson - If adding yoga 2.5 hours
how early do i have to book?
Earlier is always better, but at least 24 hours in advance to secure your spot
When do we teach lessons?
Lessons scheduled daily and start with morning availability / conditions permitting
WHERE DO WE TEACH LESSONS?
Lessons taught at Indian Beach in Ecola State Park, Short Sands, or other local beaches
WHAT DO I NEED TO BRING?
Water, towel, sunscreen, backpack or bag for the beach, $5 (card only) for State Park Entrance Fee (If Indian), snacks for later, appropriate clothing for under wetsuit, a car, and an adventurous spirit! If renting for longer than the lesson, your car will be transporting boards. We'll show you how to strap boards on your car. Please remove car top storage bins or other obstructing racks - if they take the entire car top., we can't strap boards on. If doing yoga, loose comfortable layers. For overnight board rentals, boards must be brought inside or into a secure place.
SAFETY?
Safety is our #1 priority. We check surf conditions daily to make sure they are in our favor. If you are scheduled on a day when conditions aren't good, we will reschedule your lesson or choose one of our refund options. Lessons for children are always available, and we welcome parents to join in the lesson. our goal is for your child to have an awesome time riding their first waves!
how do i pay?
We accept cash, major credit cards.
WHAT IS INCLUDED?
Lesson prices include surf board, full wetsuit for same day rental...all the gear you need to be comfortable and enjoy surfing the Pacific Ocean!
